What Does 'Flexibility' Mean At Your Biglaw Firm? In True Lawyer Fashion, It Depends

Its meaning seems to change based on how much control the firm wants to exert over its attorneys.

For one firm, it could mean three days in, two days out. To another, it means four in, one out. Or, if you’re at three days [in the office], you pick the two days, but one day is going to be an anchor day, and it’s the day that everyone on the list needs to come to the office. I’m starting to hear ‘flexibility’ along with just being thoughtful about — how do you become a bit more rigid about mandating people to come in?
